Do Not Despise the Day of Small Beginnings
One of my greatest challenges in coaching and mentoring is helping an individual recognize their greatest potential in life. Many believe there is something important for them to do, but they struggle in discovering it. Once they do, leading them through the process of empowerment to act upon it is often the greatest excitement of anything for me in life. I live for that moment in time when the light turns on in a client’s eyes and they see it for the first time. I wish I could say that it is at this point that my journey with them ends, but it isn’t.
It is an exciting moment for a person to finally know what they were meant to do with their lives. The enthusiasm, the faith, and the hope of seeing their future unfold. But, it is not too long into their success journey that most people begin to experience the feeling of being overwhelmed. The amount of things that need to be done can seem daunting – and for good reason.
Success always comes at a price, whether it is time, energy, or money. There is always a cost that comes with it. Most of the time it is all three of these, but to the one who endures, there is nothing like the victory of seeing their dream, become a vision, and their vision become a reality.
I encourage all of you who are intent of making your life a success story to remember that it is not how much that you can get done in a day, but rather that you remain committed to getting it done no matter how long it takes. The greatest advice that I can give you is that it is the consistent daily small incremental steps in a positive direction that will make your success a reality.
It does not matter how inexperienced you are, where you live or where you come from, how little money you have, how much you have to do in order to accomplish your goals, or whether or not you even have all the information you need. The most important step is that you START. Once you do, remain consistent in your daily actions towards the goal, dream, or vision you have. If you do this, your success WILL become a reality. The key is to NOT STOP once you have started. And remember, do not despise the day of small beginnings.
